NB Opening of new lawn to be re-scheduled because of the bad weather

Church Stretton Croquet Club was formed in 1992 and based at the Longmynd Hotel until 2005 when the hotel proprietors decided to build on the lawn.
In 2007, after protracted negotiations with Church Stretton Town Council, the club was allotted a lawn in the Town Park where we now play. The club has grown steadily and at present has approaching thirty members.
In 2012, following some hard work by the Committee in chasing development funds from various sources, a second lawn has been created on the site of the old shale tennis court. This lawn is a dual purpose lawn for both croquet and lawn tennis. It means the club can cater for additional members of any standard and it is hoped also that matches against other clubs in the region can be arranged.
In 2006, lacking its own lawn, the club played on the lawn at Acton Scott Hall by the kind invitation of Mr & Mrs Tom Acton.
Croquet is a fascinating and rewarding challenge. If you are already a player or think it might be the game for you please contact the club secretary,
Fane Conant on 01694 722610
for further details. You will be made most welcome.
The playing season runs from 1st April to 30th September and coaching is available for beginners at the beginning of each season.
